Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA)

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease that results in the deterioration of the retina and eventually concluding in blindness. This can occur in many breeds. 

Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)

A disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs. Usually starting out as wobbliness and eventually becoming hindlimb paralysis. This condition can be present within many breeds.

 

Von Willebrands Disease (VWD)

This is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by a lack of a specific clotting factor. There are three forms of the disease, type 1,2 and 3. Different breeds will be affected by different types of VWD.

 

Gangliosidosis (GM2)

An early onset form of lysosomal storage disease, this means dogs that are affected start to show neurologic signs as puppies or young adults this can include things like partial ot total loss of vision, behavioural changes, abnormal gait, and also seizures.

 

Mucoplysaccharidosis Type VI (MPS VI)

This is a recessive genetic disease leads to deformed and distorted growth in many breeds of dogs and other abnormalities can present themselves for example in organs, joints, tissues and the eyes.
